- Applicants must be entering post-secondary education. Priority will be given to applicants who will be attending northern institutions of learning, or colleges or universities in Canada. Applicants must have been a resident of Nunavut for at least two years. (Nunavut is defined as the geographic area now encompassed by the new Territory.) Applicants must show a demonstrated interest in preparation for a career in Nunavut. NCC administers three annual memorial bursaries for university or college students who are NunatuKavut members. Bernie Heard Memorial Bursary, valued at $1000 Raymond Turnbull Memorial Bursary, valued at $2000 Search Minerals Bursary, valued at $500
